The working principle of split heat pump water heater systems is exactly the same as that of monobloc heat pump system appliances. The notable difference is that the refrigerant circuit is divided into a compact indoor unit and an outdoor unit. They often also already contain a buffer cylinder for DHW heating or central heating backup.

To balance the running time of various modules, ThermaX split heat pump detects the running time on every modules during startup and starts the modules from the one in the minimum running time to the one in the maximum as per the capacity demand.
